Terms of use

Terms of use

These terms cover the Leadgen API, the MCP server and the web app. Short on purpose; the privacy side is on /en/privacy. Last updated 20 October 2026.

1. Who you deal with

Leadgen is run by one person in Romania, as the sole trader below. Every contract for the service is with this operator:

2. The free tier and fair use

3. Personal data in results

What we tell the people in the registry: Are you in the registry?

4. Data sources and licences

The company data is not ours. It comes from the Trade Register Office (ONRC) and the Ministry of Finance datasets on data.gov.ro, published under CC BY 4.0 (financial statements for 2008–2010 under OGL-ROU-1.0), and from ANAF's public taxpayer service. We load it as published; corrections happen at the source and arrive with the next snapshot. What you may redistribute is set out under «Licence»; if you redistribute official data, credit the source and the licence, for example: "Source: ONRC and Ministry of Finance, data.gov.ro, CC BY 4.0, via Leadgen".

5. Licence

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the results for internal purposes: checking counterparties, due diligence, B2B selling to firms and completing your own records or, if you are a consumer, for your personal use. The licence lasts as long as you hold the key and may be withdrawn only in the cases set out under «Suspension». By "copying" we mean keeping results in your own systems: you may keep up to 1,000 company records a day, whatever your plan and never more than your plan allows; other results within your plan's allowance you may look up and use, but not store in bulk. The licence does not include the right to resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute to third parties the Leadgen service, our compilation or the figures we derive, nor to build a competing database on them; any such redistribution needs our written agreement. You may publish, with source attribution and a link to leadgen.adrianhomelab.com, excerpts of up to 50 firms in a report or article. These restrictions do not limit the rights you have directly in the official data under its own licences (CC BY 4.0 for the ONRC data, OGL-ROU-1.0 for the 2008–2010 financial statements); the same data is also available at the source, on data.gov.ro. If you redistribute official data, follow its licence: credit the source and the licence and say whether you changed it, for example: "Source: ONRC and Ministry of Finance, data.gov.ro, CC BY 4.0, via Leadgen".

6. Uses we do not permit

You may not use the results for: (a) decisions taken solely by automated means about an individual that produce legal effects concerning them or similarly significantly affect them (GDPR art. 22), including automated decisions on their eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or debt collection; a check made by a person, for example before granting trade credit to a sole trader, remains allowed; (b) tracing, surveillance or locating an individual, including skip-tracing; (c) re-identifying individuals from apparently anonymous data; (d) combining data about individuals with social networks or other sources to build profiles of those individuals, outside the business relationship with their firm; (e) building, on our compilation, a database or service that competes with Leadgen. For any processing of your own you remain a separate controller and provide your own legal basis.

7. Your key

A key belongs to one account and one organisation. Do not share it outside your organisation, resell it, embed it in a product offered to third parties, or use it to get around the limits. If it is compromised, tell us at contact@adrianhomelab.com and we revoke it. When the account ends the key is revoked; results you kept under the licence you may go on using only for the purposes and within the limits set out under «Licence».

8. Warranty

The service is provided as is and as available, by one person. We do not guarantee any particular uptime, or that the data from the official sources is complete, current or correct; derived figures (risk level, health score, trends) are automated estimates, not advice. Check anything you rely on at the source. If you are a consumer, the legal guarantee of conformity for digital services applies (Romanian OUG 141/2021): the service must conform to the contract for the whole subscription (art. 10(3)). If it does not, you are entitled to have it brought into conformity free of charge within 15 days of telling us, and, where that is not possible or is not done, to a proportionate price reduction or to terminate the contract, under arts. 13–14 of OUG 141/2021. Nothing in this section limits that guarantee or any other right the law gives you as a consumer.

9. Liability

For customers who use the service in their professional activity: as far as the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, lost data or decisions taken on the basis of the results, and the total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid for the service in the 12 months before it (zero on the free tier). Towards consumers we are liable as the law provides, without these limits. In no case do we limit liability for intent, gross negligence, or harm to life, physical integrity or health.

10. Indemnity (professional customers)

If you use the service in your professional activity, you indemnify us against any third-party claim, fine, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms (including «Uses we do not permit»), of Law 506/2004 or of the GDPR, except to the extent that the claim, fine or cost is caused by us. This clause does not apply to consumers.

11. Paid plans: cancellation, withdrawal and refunds

Paid plans are not on sale yet. The terms below apply from the day they are.

Information concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal

Applies if you are a consumer (an individual buying outside your trade or profession). Below is the model withdrawal information from the annex to Romanian OUG 34/2014 (part A), completed for Leadgen subscriptions. This English version is for information; the Romanian text is the statutory one.

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (OAIDA A. IOAN-ADRIAN PERSOANĂ FIZICĂ AUTORIZATĂ, București, Sector 1, Bd. Dinicu Golescu nr. 7, Parter, SP. COM. 3, phone +40 787 821 226, e-mail contact@adrianhomelab.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory.

You can also exercise your right of withdrawal online at https://leadgen-checkout.adrianhomelab.com/en/withdraw («Withdraw from contract here»). If you use this online function, we will send you, without undue delay, an acknowledgement of receipt of the withdrawal on a durable medium (for example, by e-mail), including its content and the date and time it was sent.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

If you requested to begin the performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.

Details

What you buy. A Leadgen Pro subscription (€9 a month or €90 a year, 500 lookups a day) or Business (€29 a month or €290 a year, 5,000 lookups a day), applied to your API key. Prices are final: the operator is not VAT-registered. Payments go through Stripe; we never see your card. The subscription starts as soon as the payment is confirmed and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it.

Cancel any time. Cancel in the subscription portal (the “Manage subscription” link in the app, on /start or in your confirmation email) or by writing to us from the subscription's address. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for: you keep the plan until then, after which your key moves to Free (25 lookups a day) and keeps working. Nothing is charged after you cancel.

Right of withdrawal (consumers). Because you ask for the service to start immediately, on withdrawal you pay only for the days you had the plan and get the rest of the price back. Example: you withdraw from monthly Pro (€9) after 5 days of a 30-day month → €7.50 back. A monthly or annual subscription is not fully performed within the 14 days, so the right of withdrawal stays open for the whole period. The online function Withdraw from contract here is also in the footer of the subscription pages, on the manage page and in your confirmation email; it asks only for your name, the contract and an address for the confirmation.

Businesses. When you buy as a company (with a tax ID), the consumer right of withdrawal does not apply. Cancellation works the same way: any time, effective at the end of the paid period.

Changing plan. Move from Pro to Business (or monthly to annual) in the portal: the change applies at once and you pay only the difference for the rest of the period. A move to a smaller plan (or from annual to monthly) takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.

Failed payments. If a renewal fails, Stripe retries the payment and we email you. The plan stays active for 14 days from the renewal date; if the payment has not gone through by then, the key moves to Free.

When and how we refund. Within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal statement, to the card you paid with, at no cost to you, with a credit-note invoice. Apart from withdrawal, we do not refund partial periods after cancellation.

Price changes. We email you at least 30 days in advance; the new price applies from the next renewal, and you can cancel at no cost before then. Annual subscriptions get a reminder email 7 days before they renew.

Complaints. Write to the contact address in the page footer (contact@adrianhomelab.com); we reply within 2 working days. If we cannot resolve it, you can turn to ANPC, including its alternative dispute resolution (SAL): reclamatiisal.anpc.ro.

12. Invoices

Invoices are issued electronically and sent by e-mail to the address on the account; for buyers in Romania the invoice is also submitted to the RO e-Factura system. The operator is not a VAT payer at the date of these terms, so the prices shown are final. If we become a VAT payer, we tell you by e-mail at least 30 days ahead: for firms, VAT is added to the price from the next renewal; for consumers, the price shown stays the total price, and any increase applies only as set out under «Price changes». Periods already paid do not change.

13. How the contract is made

The steps are: choose a plan, enter your e-mail, tick the required consents, press the payment button and continue to the payment processor. The contract is concluded when payment is confirmed. You immediately receive a confirmation e-mail on a durable medium with the plan, price, period, renewal date, key, order reference, the consents you ticked and, for consumers, the withdrawal information and the model withdrawal form; the e-mail has the text of these terms attached, in the version you accepted. Every version of the terms stays published unchanged, with its date, and the subscription management page (/manage) links to the version you accepted; we also send it by e-mail on request. The site is available in Romanian and English; the Romanian version prevails. Input errors can be corrected before payment by returning to the previous step. We do not subscribe to any code of conduct.

14. Suspension

We may suspend a key immediately, without notice, where there is ongoing abuse, a security risk or a legal duty. In all other cases we write 15 days in advance, state the reason and give you the chance to reply. If we suspend a paid subscription without good cause, we refund the unused period pro rata. If we discontinue a paid service, we give 60 days' notice and refund the paid, unused period. Features marked "beta" that are not part of a paid plan, such as invitation-only access to the web app, may change or close without notice; for everything a paid plan includes, the rules above and those under «Changes» apply.

15. Changes

We may change these terms only for: a change in the law or a decision of an authority; a change in the official data sources or in the conditions on which we can obtain them; security or abuse prevention; new features or plans; clarifications that do not reduce your rights. The date at the top shows the current version, and earlier versions stay published. Key holders get every change by email at least 30 days ahead. If a change is to your disadvantage, you may end the contract free of charge before it applies or within 30 days after, and from a paid subscription we refund the paid, unused period pro rata. Otherwise the change applies from the date announced. Prices change only as set out under «Price changes».

16. Law and disputes

Romanian law governs these terms. Write to contact@adrianhomelab.com first. Disputes go to the competent courts in Romania; a consumer keeps the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of their country of habitual residence and can also turn to ANPC (anpc.ro) and its alternative dispute resolution service (SAL).

17. Final provisions

Force majeure excuses the affected party from liability for as long as it lasts. If a clause is held invalid, the rest stands. These terms, the information shown before payment and the order confirmation form the entire agreement; the privacy policy informs you about your data and is not part of the contract. Not exercising a right is not a waiver. You may not assign the contract without our written consent; we may assign it to an entity taking over the business, without reducing your rights. Notices go by e-mail to the address on the account and to contact@adrianhomelab.com. The clauses on licence, prohibited uses, indemnity, liability and personal data survive termination. The Romanian version prevails. The contract is governed by Romanian law, as set out under «Law and disputes».
